I am in my mid fifties, type 1 diabetic and had heart attack some years ago although very mild. Have a wonderful girlfriend who is as frustrated as me. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Your diabetes and its effect on the micro-circulation are probably the problem. There are a couple of other ED drugs that may help.
Apomorphine as Uprima works by a different mechanism and is sometimes useful. It has been discontinued in UK, mainly because it made no profit as most people use Viagra but may be available on a named patient basis, as you get free prescriptions it would cost nothing if you could obtain it this way. You would need your GP's cooperation.
Alprostadil Muse is inserted locally,on its own it is not great, but it can be combined with Viagra.
Penile Injections were never really popular for obvious reasons, but they are acceptable to some and may help. A combination of papaverine, phentolamine, and alproastadil reduces side effects, but this is not an easy route.
